They'll just extend the season! How bad will it be if we finish on May 4th, then have to watch Oadby play 3 or 4 games in hand over the next couple of weeks

I don't think that would be allowed to happen unless it becomes impossible to fit in the games - e.g. if there is really bad weather in the last couple of weeks of the season (as happened last season). They have already planned for many teams having to play two games in midweek - including the likes of Chenecks and BPW having to play early evening games in April (and also Chenecks are playing their last home game "away" on 30th April - I guess the cricket season might have impacted on that).
Once again it highlights the errors made by the league in not arranging more league games earlier in the season. If we accept they want to organise their little internal cup competitions, surely these should be towards the end of the season, then if there is a fixture pile-up they can scrap the cup - as the NSYL seem to be doing, or at least arrange for those teams without floodlights to have these early kick-offs in midweek during April if they are still in one of those cups.

I know most of us think that oadby or Sileby won't drop any points against teams from outside the top 4 but I'm not so sure. All these games coming thick and fast with many midweek games it only needs a couple of players unavailable or someone gets injured and these teams become beatable. If oadby lost Stevenson for a game to two would they be as good? What if Sileby were withough a couple of players? I believe there will be points lost by oadby, eynesbury and Sileby. But obviously none by us!

Think it was established in another thread that they won't extend it past 4th May because of the FA and already you see in other leagues teams with some horrendous backlogs in April, so they will just have to play 3/4 games a week if they have to, which I agree, the possibility of tired legs with so many games means I seriously think an unpredictable drop in points somewhere could be on the cards
Another thing to factor into this debate is the transfer deadline - 5pm on Sunday 31st March - so clubs with a lot of games in April are a bit more limited in signing players. What I'm not really clear on is what the deadline actually means in practice, as the league statement on the subject leaves the door open for players not already registered to be signed after that date (whatever that means in practice).

Thats the most important thing. Remember those boring Saturdays last year when we wished we had a team to watch? Its been top notch so far with a decent run in the vase, winning most of our games and scoring plenty of goals, all for just a fiver a time. Bargain!
Don't be saying that, they'll be putting the price up!!
