Re: UCL Premier Division travelling distances...
Why are WBC being kicked out when it leaves an odd-numbered division?! Really stupid decision and ensure that there will be empty weeks for every club.

Maybe they are not being kicked out they might have resigned. They did last year but changed their minds.
Agree there is no need for odd numbers, this leaves 42 clubs, why not go for 22/20 split?

What if the UCL decide that OK we even it up but go for 20/22 split at the AGM, leaving only 1 team being promoted from UCL 1 , oh that screws us then, is our promotion only ratified at the AGM, it may just be provisional at the moment so a 21/21 split is fine by me, don't give the men in blazers ideas that may bite your own arse.Sid wrote:Maybe they are not being kicked out they might have resigned. No way will they tear up the league handbook and change promotion rules. Two places are guaranteed, I'm sure we'd sue if that did not happen.

The vice-chairman of the UCL would look like a tit if this happened after he gave out the pennant and medals at Presentation EveningBiggles wrote:What if the UCL decide that OK we even it up but go for 20/22 split at the AGM, leaving only 1 team being promoted from UCL 1 , oh that screws us then, is our promotion only ratified at the AGM, it may just be provisional at the moment so a 21/21 split is fine by me, don't give the men in blazers ideas that may bite your own arse.Sid wrote:Maybe they are not being kicked out they might have resigned. The pennant and medals were in recognition of being runners-up in the league - nothing and no-one can change that.

Paranoid, i'm not paranoid, you and others seem happy to suggest that the UCL make the leagues even numbers but i was pointing out that to make them even they could decide on 20/22 and not 22/20.
I think the UCL is quite happy with 21/21 in each League at this moment unless they get pressured by the F.A to accept other changes to the numbers.

The league can't suddenly decide that promotion will not apply I don't understand why you suggest this. It is clearly stated in the handbook that promotion will be achieved by the top 2 in Division One, subject to ground facilities and the club being correctly administered. Unless we have failed on these counts we are promoted.
As for 21 or 22 in the Premier, I really don't care, as you say the UCL has had a 21 team top division for several years now. Most leagues choose to go with even numbers so that everyone gets the chance of bigger crowds on Boxing Day and Easter Monday and do not have unnecessary blank saturdays. You could even have all teams finish the season on the same day

The UCL have apologised for their tweet about clubs moving from other leagues, the FA have not made a decision yet.
