Re: Glenn Botterill Resigns
Let's not forget the players here. Most of that team effectively dropped two divisions after winning the UCL with Long Buckby. Why do that if it's not for the money?
Botterill's a decent manager, too gobby on the sidelines for the modern game, but he'll pitch up somewhere.

Looks like Rob Foster is off too, currently mulling over a move to Cogenhoe. Sileby will get relegated with the squad they've got (or not got) at the moment. Cash cows dried up.Trek wrote:That's clearly the case, Ling training with us a few weeks back, Byrne back to Desboro', Smeathers to Wellingboro' and Chilton on trial with us.Mat.H wrote:They are apparently struggling to attract players and its £££ thats causing the problem.

One thing they have got is a decent little ground but then again so was Nene Park and we didn't always attract the best players!

According to Glenn on Facebook: "Just for the record we had no money man or rich benefactor,we had to raise any finances ourselves through sponsorship and selling advertising boards etc, just like any other team."
Yeh of course Glenn, they all joined for the "project".

Can't wait to pump the shysters first home game of the season with their quickly assembled squad.

Now now, we all said that in the opening day of the 06/07 season when we faced Crawley and looked what happened there! :roll:UttoDiamond wrote:Can't wait to pump the shysters first home game of the season with their quickly assembled squad.

I have it on very good authority that some of there players did not get paid one that was give up his pay so that a new player could be brought in. That said I do believe the reason players have left and signed for other clubs is money, why play for nothing on a lovely pitch when you can play for £30, £40 or £50 just a few miles away us, cogenhoe, long buckby, desborough will not be picking these players up for nothing.
