Third league game at home this season and all teams have played 1 up front with 5 in midfield. Even Crossy on twitter remarked on this. However, it's in our court to be patient and break them down.Dukes wrote:Harborough came with a game plan to defend in depth, play the offside trap, leaving just one forward up front and try to hit us on the break. It mostly worked in the first half but eventually we broke it down after the break.

Given who was selecting MOM that narrowed it down to the right back or Joe Merrill :lol:BartonRaz wrote:I appreciate that their minds might be on next weekend but some of our lads really did the bare minimum today. Players frequently just giving up on loose balls and some of them were almost at walking pace at times. On the plus side we've won the game and our defenders all played really well. Between Brown and Merrill for MOM.
Didn't think we were that bad, solid workmanlike performance, Alfie missed a couple of chances & Dunks could/should have scored still save them for next week :!: if 2-0 up after 30mins may have got a few We didn't but still a comfortable win, which at times was little more than passing practice. Following some of our recent home games I don't think we should be surprised or expect anything other than teams coming & defending, so will become very important to do what to be fair we have done in almost every home game so far, get the early goal & make the opposition come out a bit more.
Harborough manager prize dick. Regardless of his past/present feeling towards anything R&D related. He didn't cover himself or his Club (who are from my experience over the past 4 years a decent though small bunch) in glory with his pointing & ranting. What had upset him, home fans giving the away keeper a hard time :?: grow up you plank

What was the commotion at the end of the game with the Harboro manager and keeper. I was in commentary box and we were summing up when we heard booing.
In contrast Starms at the end of the match went straight to the ref and lines ladies spoke with them and shook their hands........... and maybe even gave them some words of encouragement.

Spoke to the guy doing the Fans Run Club blog. He was a very pleasant young man,..... yes a student but not spotty D of W! Quite keyed up on non league matters.
I am sure he was impressed and had a good day. When I left him he was about to talk to Starms and then hoping to meet Ralph.
We can look forward to reading his blog in a few days. I wonder how long it will be this time.

The commotion was that Gordon Kyle, their joint manager, was unimpressed at him and his keeper being called a w****r (I don't recall anyone calling Kyle a w****r but in hindsight it looks like they were excellent judges of character!!!). He then lowered his professional standard to that of a sewer rat and gestured the said w****r sign towards the PDB.sussexdiamond wrote:What was the commotion at the end of the game with the Harboro manager and keeper.
