My thoughts exactly. Is this a back up incase anything happens to Dunks? If so it's a good addition as we know he works well with Alfie.FOOTYMAN wrote: Yes, a bit of mixed opinion on this one. He was not considered as a guaranteed starter at this level and went to play where he would be. Now he's returning to be a substitute ? because I don't think he is as good as anyone we have here, for the position we have seen him in. But, he may well be a useful addition as a squad player.

Re: Deven Ellwood Returns
Welcome back Dev
Personally, with our midfield attacking superstar missing next Saturday, and after the kind of attacking midfield performance last Saturday that I could put in, I'd drop Dev straight in the middle alongside Sean! Dev has a real eye for a pass and is prepared to work hard to close people down, them make the simple pass.
At the moment we say that brad and Sean are too defensive playing together, but on recent performances the other option isn't working, maybe something, or someone, in the middle of the park needs shaking up?? Starms has to change it Saturday anyway, why not tonight?
Just my opinion, Starms knows what he's doing, but in Dev he have a player he knows is honest, will work his heart out, and can provide cover in a couple of places - good to have you back Dev !!

Great news, he knows what the clubs about.
Although this does mean my dad will get Ellwood and Merrill mixed up like he did numerous times last season!

Another player that should return is Jack Wiznieski. Especially now Liburd has gone.

Welcome Home Dev.
I was very disappointed to see out of the Dev leave at the end of the season, I felt that we never saw the best of Dev during his first stint here, his long term injury kept him out of the team and I feel he is a valuable addition to the squad, I do not feel being a striker is his best position although Alfie and Dev worked well together, Dev will create many goal scoring opportunities for others even when he plays as a striker as he is an unselfish player unlike Newman who replaced him in the side, Dev as great vision I would love to see Dev given a chance in midfield, once again welcome home Dev, we missed you.

Re: Deven Ellwood Returns
Where was Dev last night, was expecting to see him on the bench, I assume he was unavailable or wasn't registered in time for the game?

Re: Deven Ellwood Returns
He was there watching the game, just not involved on the playing front, had a quick chat with him and he appeared in good spirits, he was with our Chairman most of the evening so I can only assume he is either good at laying concrete, can refurbish toilets or has a big van to collect some new seats in. :lol:diamondgeezer1 wrote:Where was Dev last night, was expecting to see him on the bench, I assume he was unavailable or wasn't registered in time for the game?
