Seconded on the thanks to the volunteers who do this. I've been away from East Northants for the entirity of AFCRD, and very much doubt I will return, so have loved the service and would be gutted to see it go. Saying that, there's absolutely no demand for a fellow supporter to give up their enjoyment of watching the match so guys like me can sporadically have a fun 3 minute browse of goals and Claudiu Hoban on a Monday lunchtime.OneSalientOversight wrote:I live in Australia. Thanks to all who have worked on footage in the past, your work is appreciated.
If you've already tried it before, fine. Given one issue might be people having to pull out due other commitments, that will understandably put football last, you know that those on the coach are going to the match. It wouldn't neccessarily mean going up and down rows, maybe something along the lines of asking if anyone is up for doing it/is interested?bozzer wrote: I don't think that's really going to work, a) most in the coach are volunteers in another shape or form and b) I don't really want another job of having to go up and down the coach begging for someone to film whilst everyone feels awkward and says no.
Where did I suggest or imply you should beg? As already mentioned, this was purely a suggestion that may not have been an avenue that has been explored, given that we are at the stage where there is serious talk of losing this as a service. It might be the case that if posed in the right way, It could encourage more to come forward, and if handled right, another person to help now and again if needed when a bit short. In fact I don't want to be having to beg, and persuade people. As those that have done it in the past can vouch you don't have to be technically savvy, you point the camera and zoom in and out that's really all there is to it. As for editing, again I had no experience whatsoever of this but i sat at a computer and learnt with YouTube videos how to do it.
The call was for four more as we have 4 at the moment to film, but we only have myself and possibly one other to edit. I have put a rota together so anyone who has expressed and interest can be added if the email me and even if they can only do 20 minutes filming once a month it all helps. However on the rota at the minute for next week is me filming 3/4 of the match, filming the interviews and doing the editing. If that is how it is going to go every week I won't be doing it.
