Re: SATURDAYS GAME NOW AT HOME

The advanatages of the switch include avoiding a long and wasted journey for fans if the game was called off late, and in particular certainly avoiding the need for a long away trip in midweek if the fixture had to be rearranged. This would have created considerable costs for the club, and most fans ...

Re: Play off away allocations?

Well my son and I are really worried that we wont be able to get them! Not season ticket holders, nor Trust members. Ross has supported Diamonds since Autumn 2002, and seen dross virtually all the time. We cant get to the Home leg as I am working, so its the away leg or nothing! He (and I) are ...

Re: Who did you support...

I had attended games at both Hayden Road and Nene Park. To be honest I had attended a greater number of games at Northampton and K*ttering, but my previous team was 100% Aldershot. But they went bust, R&D were formed and the rest is history. The only problem is moving to Stafford in 1995!

Re: Chester are wound up

I really feel for the Chester fans: it is absolutely indescribable. I supported the original Aldershot home and many away games for 25 years from 1967. The end was obviously coming, but however daft I just kept hoping that something would prevent MY club from going under. In 1992 they were finally ...

Re: the only thing missing.....

I would also add in a tall centre back. I thought both Downer and Stuart were excellent yesterday, but we really do suffer at times with high balls onto the edge of our box. Because neither of our centre backs are tall enough to dominate (winning a header against a centre forward is not the same as ...

Re: Do we upgrade our season target?

I am very surprised by the position we are in, and if you take away the first few weeks (August/Sept) when the team was settling down, then we really are in Championship winning form. Realistically, to win the league you can't afford such a slow start, but we really must be the form team of the last ...

Re: What a fantastic idea !!!

This, or something similar, really does need to be considered. I remember a few years ago we went to a rearranged mid week game at Macclesfield (the time the first game of the season was rained off in August!), and they did something very similar. I seem to remember you had to have a voucher from a ...
