But money did not bring automatic success for us even with all the money it still took a few seasons.wewantourdarbyback wrote:diamondgeezer1 wrote:Crawley are just becoming like a Mini-Chelsea/Man City.... I really hope they crash and burn.
Hopefully they'll learn a harsh lesson, that money doesn't automatically bring you success, we know all about that.
Well it did for us, just that we couldn't sustain a club at the higher level without the money.

The club finished third in its first ever season, won the league the next and won promotion again in two years.Mat.H wrote:But money did not bring automatic success for us even with all the money it still took a few seasons.wewantourdarbyback wrote:diamondgeezer1 wrote:Crawley are just becoming like a Mini-Chelsea/Man City.... Yes there was some stagnation in the middle, but there is no doubting that the money instantly transformed us from two struggling clubs going nowhere into a success.

I'm not sure I thought he was underrated tbh! I thought he was a very good player, and I was disappointed he left. Did he go to Aldershot for their first season in the league?BartonRaz wrote:Vastly underrated whilst he was here in my opinion.Irish Diamond wrote:Dean Howell has gone to Crawley.

In all seriousness, whatever possessed you when you wrote that? How could anyone think that someone's surname would have an apostrophe in it?
